Multicultural Consumer Targeted in New York University Marketing Course

New York University's Center For Marketing has organized a multicultural marketing course entitled "Marketing to the New Majority: How to Reach the Multicultural Consumer." The course will be carried out April 27-28 with Lisa Skriloff, Adjunct Faculty member at NYU since 2001, as class instructor.

Guest speakers will share their knowledge about specific niche markets and discuss the most effective ways to reach these groups using traditional and innovative methods. Attendees will learn how to develop marketing strategies and how to benefit from tapping into the $1 trillion multicultural market.

Among the marketing methods that will be covered are: advertising, public relations, direct marketing, events planning, community programs, online marketing, and other disciplines.

Topics to be discussed include African Americans and Healthcare, the Business Case for Diversity, Client Best Practices in Asian American Marketing, Direct Marketing to the US Hispanic Market, How to Capture Today's Hottest Market: Women Business Owners and Executives, Importance of Segmentation Within the African-American Community, Overview of The Disability Market: Focus on the Travel Industry, Overview of the Gay and Lesbian Market: Beyond the Stereotypes, and Understanding the South Asian, Indian Market.

The classes will consist of about 5-8 "students". Upon completion of the class the students will receive a grade from the instructor. The course will take place in New York University's Midtown Center: 11 West 42nd Street.
